Business Overview

BlackRock Private Equity Partners (“PEP”) is an investment platform that provides a broad array of private equity solutions primarily through direct co-investments and private equity funds of funds programs.

PEP operates a global team with major offices in Princeton, London, Zurich and Hong Kong.

On behalf of, and in partnership with our clients, they look to build diversified portfolios of investments across the spectrum of private markets, including Leveraged Buyouts (LBOs), Distressed and late stage Venture Capital, on a global and multi-industry basis. This role will support the London and Zurich teams underwriting European opportunities and offer exposure to activities in the US and Asia.

Brief Summary of Analyst Position

  • Participate in all aspects of the investment lifecycle, from initial screen and due diligence, through approval, to post-investment monitoring and reporting.

  • Active participant in the direct co-investment deals process by performing screening, research, financial modelling, and other quantitative & qualitative analyses as part of the European investment team.

  • Participation in Fund selection process and active monitoring of the existing portfolio.

  • Would suit candidate from Leverage Finance or investment banking programme who has seen full deal cycle and is used to high volume of transactions with some relevant training or investment experience (e.g., private equity, investment banking or management consulting).

Responsibilities

  • Participate in due diligence of investment opportunities (direct investments, primary funds, and secondaries), including conducting market and company research, preparing valuation analyses, financial and operating models, and investment memoranda, and presenting recommendations to the senior investment team.

  • Coordinate with service providers and internal BlackRock groups (Legal, Operations, and Risk) to manage the closings of new investments.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with intermediaries and private equity fund general partners.

  • Assist in the preparation of summary review materials in support of internal quarterly reviews, external investor reports, advisory board meetings, and fundraising.

Candidate Requirements

  • 1-3 years relevant work experience, ideally with exposure to leverage finance and private equity.

  • Strong written and oral presentation skills – able to effectively formulate and articulate opinions persuasively.

  • Technical skills – understand and develop financial models for companies and private equity funds (e.g., LBO models, valuation models, fund cash flow models, etc.).

  • Analytical and critical thinking – articulate key investment considerations and risks.

  • Strong interpersonal & team skills – working in a cross-border, strong team-based environment.

  • Attention to detail and time management capability.

  • Self-starter with strong initiative.

  • Preference for a European language
