Role Description
Based in Taipei, BlackRock is seeking a qualified Portfolio Manager with 1+ years of onshore Fund of Fund experience to grow the Mutual Fund and ILP businesses. The team is responsible for crafting and delivering multi-asset and model portfolio solutions to insurers and retail banks. Two key responsibilities are day-to-day portfolio management activities and communicating investment strategies and views to prospective and existing clients.
Given the focus on multi-asset approaches among our clients and within BlackRock, this role has considerable scope for the right individual to have an impact on both the success of the team as well as the broader MASS business. The successful candidate will possess outstanding attention to detail and is flexible, adaptable, and self-starting. Strong English and interpersonal skills, including ability to deliver presentations and coordinate across multiple groups around the firm.
Responsibilities:
Manage Mutual Funds/ILP comprised of ETFs, active funds, direct investments that includes implementing investment strategies, trading client flows, rebalancing and drafting client reports
Ensure all mandates conform to performance expectations, investment guidelines, risk parameters, and regulatory requirements
Conduct 4-step investment process reports and other administrative affairs in aligning with regulations and internal controls
Deliver investment insights and analysis on our investment mandates, including investment philosophy, process & positioning, performance, and attribution
Structure presentation materials for new business opportunities and respond to client requests and queries
Partner with Client Business team to represent our capabilities and engage clients and prospects on BlackRock’s MASS products and solutions. Work alongside regional investment teams and product strategists to deliver an outstanding experience for clients, prospects and internal partners
Evaluate performance attribution and communicate market/portfolio performance
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree is required. CFA and/or CAIA designation or a desire to pursue is preferred
Meet one of the following license and experience requirements:
Taiwan Securities Investment Analysts Securities Investment Trust and Consulting Professional and at least 1 year professional experience in financial institution (SITE/SICE/insurer) Senior Securities Specialists and at least 2 years professional experience in financial institution At least 1 year working as a public fund manager At least 3 years of professional experience in financial institutions
Preferably >2 years’ experience in multi-asset portfolio management in investment industry
Collaborative approach: Great teammate who takes a cooperative approach and has a positive working attitude
An entrepreneurial drive coupled with a desire to go above and beyond to deliver superior client experience
Meticulous attention to detail with an ability to remain focused across a wide range of portfolio types and activities with strong risk management awareness
Ability to clearly articulate ideas in both Mandarin and English to internal and external audiences across levels of seniority
Independent thinking: High level of self-motivation, able to own and drive multiple assignments at once
Familiar with SITE/SICE regulations
Understanding of quantitative investment research and optimization techniques preferred
Familiar with Bloomberg and proficient in MS Office applications. Technical skills including Python and Tableau preferred
