Job purpose/Background

The primary duties of the role will be to support the Australian executive team comprising the CEO, COO and other members of the executive committee in formulating and executing strategies to grow the Australian franchise. The role will be wide ranging reflecting the breadth of the executive roles you will be supporting, covering product strategy, sales strategy, and operational strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the analytics for Australia and business specific strategy projects

  • Lead the research that informs Australia strategy development through utilizing a range of data sources on investment markets and competitor intelligence and translate that into analytical summaries

  • Quantitative analyses and financial modeling of initiatives

  • Synthesize quantitative and qualitative data points into insights and recommendation summaries.

  • Conduct interviews with senior business heads and perform qualitative analyses

  • Assist in synthesizing and presenting recommendations to drive decision making process

  • Coordinate efforts and develop relationships among various BlackRock teams to ensure efficient execution of projects

  • Participate in implementation of initiatives and changes where appropriate

  • Provide ongoing analytics, communications and project management support for the Australian Executive team

Skills and Experience:

  • 1 – 3 years’ experience in financial services or management consulting

  • Degree in commerce, economics, finance or business related discipline

  • Strong analytical skills: able to gather and synthesize information from ambiguous sources, draw conclusions and summarize issues for an executive audience

  • Excellent analytical and creative problem solving skills

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel

  • Demonstrates curiosity around macro trends and investment markets

  • Excellent written, oral & interpersonal communication skills

  • An effective team player, able to work with people of all levels across the organization

  • Strong interest in the investment management business and industry

  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast paced, complex matrix structured organisation. Proven capability to develop and leverage effective stakeholder relationships.

  • Able to work under pressure, often to time specific deadlines with relative autonomy
