Role Overview

BlackRock is sourcing for a dynamic administrative professional for the BlackRock Systematic investment team. BlackRock Systematic (BSYS) uses big data, data science, and deep human expertise to engineer better portfolio outcomes.

This role will provide administrative support to three San Francisco based Managing Directors and help lead BSYS Talent initiatives. The role will be split across three functions. The first function will be to support the Chief Investment Officer for Systematic Fixed Income (SFI) and an investment team lead in SFI. The second will be to coordinate projects for the BSYS Talent Committee. The last will be to support a senior investment strategist who interfaces primarily with prospects and clients.

The ideal candidate is an administrative professional who has experience supporting senior management with global responsibilities within a fast-paced financial services firm. The candidate should be adaptable, a problem solver, and highly motivated. This role will suit someone who can proactively work with minimal direction and enjoys collaborating within a large team.

Responsibilities

The core responsibilities are:

Administrative Support for the CIO, Investment Lead, and Product Strategist:

  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of changing priorities.

  • Proactively manage calendars, often with the complexity of multiple time zones.

  • Plan a variety of executive level virtual, in-person, and hybrid meetings, ensuring conference rooms, catering, multimedia, and other essential meeting services are arranged.

  • Coordinate domestic and international travel and submit expense reports via Concur in a timely manner.

  • Help the Product Strategy team to coordinate client meetings, including scheduling, sending planners, booking rooms, and day of catering needs.

  • Willingness to help with ad hoc projects.

BSYS Talent & Culture Project Work:

  • Partner closely with Head of the Office of the CIO running the BSYS Talent program which includes three pillars: Talent acquisition, Advancement and retention and DEI and Brand elevation and outreach. The candidate will help create agendas, schedule, and co-host recurring internal meetings. They will work with each of the three pillar leads to actively project manage larger scope projects across the pillars and sending communications from the BSYS Talent mailbox. They will coordinate projects and events from concept to execution including events with teams outside of BSYS.

  • Assist the lead assistant with the one-day annual summer BSYS Research Workshop. The goal of the workshop is to share research within the broader team and to foster innovation and collaboration.

Administrative Team:

  • Partner with assistants within BSYS and across the firm.

  • Provide seamless coverage to additional executives when BSYS teammates are out of the office.

Qualifications

  • A minimum five years of administrative or analyst experience in a support role that interacted with executive level management demonstrating increased responsibilities.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • High level of poise and professionalism as the role interfaces with senior executives of the firm.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality related to the company and its employees.

  • Proficiency with office productivity tools and an aptitude for learning new best practices.

  • Ability to be onsite in the San Francisco office a minimum of 4 days per week.

  • Willingness to start at 7 am PT / 10 am ET.

Location: San Francisco

For California only the salary range for this position is $0 - $0 which is the equivalent of $0.00 - $0.00 per hour. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
