About this Role

We are looking for a Vice President to join the Commercial Strategy & Strategic Partnerships team within our SMA Solutions business unit. The Commercial Strategy & Strategic Partnerships team is responsible for leading commercial strategy efforts for the business, driving new and innovative product solutions, and engaging with our largest and most complex strategic partners. The Vice President position will be responsible for supporting Strategic Client Initiatives and business development for the business. A strong team player is critical, as they will work creatively and collaboratively with colleagues across a number of departments, such as National Accounts, Portfolio Management, Sales, Research, Operations, Marketing and COO.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Strategic Client initiatives and owns client engagement, business development with BlackRock’s Enterprise Platforms and RIAs

  • Create presentations for clients, events, and internal stakeholders

  • Present to clients and prospects, and is a lead representative for the SMA solutions platform

  • Partner with Enterprise RMs, SMA Solutions client teams, and Wealth advisory market teams to profile, vet, and close strategic partnerships

  • Explore transformative opportunities and new channel development for SMA Solutions

  • Establish pipeline management process and effectively progress Enterprise SMA engagements

  • Create projections and prioritization of Client Opportunities

  • Develop activation plans for strategic clients

  • Negotiates deal terms and enterprise pricing

Qualifications:

  • Excellent team-building skills and proven ability to leverage resources of the firm to the benefit of the client

  • Business development experience in the investment management industry – experience with wirehouse platforms or RIAs and Custodians is a plus

  • Excellent networking, negotiation, communication, and presentation skills

  • Flexible, responsive, and self-starting personality. Demonstrated experience working both independently and as part of a team in a highly collaborative, complex environment

  • Familiarity with separately managed accounts a strong plus

  • Strong time management, organizational and problem solving skills including ability to manage projects independently

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of relevant asset management industry experience with some Separately Managed Account (SMA) experience preferred

  • BA/BS degree required

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel and PowerPoint

  • NASD series 7, 63, and 65 securities licenses preferred

For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $137,500 - $194,000. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
