Job Duties: Build, design, and implement high-scale Spark/Scala applications that process and analyze clients’ portfolios. Partner closely with Product Management and Client teams to improve the product offering, drive commercial advancement, and increase user engagement and adoption. Work directly with Hadoop infrastructure and operations teams to maintain the platform, troubleshoot issues, and establish strategic direction from batch computing. Work with other Aladdin Wealth engineers globally to provide 24/7 support for the broader platform, including high-throughput batch applications, fact interactive APIs, and front-end applications.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study and five (5) years of experience as an Associate, Analyst, or related role. In the alternative, the employer will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field of study and three (3) years of experience as an Associate, Analyst, or related role. Must have five (5) years of experience with: Java; three (3) years of experience with: Developing Spark applications using Scala; Architecting and navigating complex developments for Spark applications; and Hadoop Technologies, including Hive and YARN; and two (2) years of experience with Cloud-native platforms and deployments.

For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $174,400 - $214,500. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
