About Long Term Private Capital

Long Term Private Capital (“LTPC”) is BlackRock’s direct private equity fund and a differentiated approach to traditional private equity. LTPC’s strategy is to invest in high quality companies with outstanding management teams and leverage our global resources to actively support growth opportunities. LTPC’s permanent capital enables a flexible hold period and a more prudent approach to leverage in order to support growth and maximize long term investor returns. The team seeks to deploy capital primarily in North America and Western Europe and is expected to grow its asset under management over time through both capital appreciation and new investor commitments in one permanent investing vehicle.

Job Summary

BlackRock is seeking a highly motivated and qualified candidate to join its Long Term Private Capital team. The role, based in New York, is a unique opportunity to help build a differentiated approach to private equity. It offers significant investment experience across a wide range of sectors and geographies. The selected individual will work with an experienced senior team in a collaborative and entrepreneurial work environment. The role will have responsibility for financial modeling, deal assessment and execution, development and review of due diligence reports, market research, portfolio monitoring, and general analytics. The successful candidate will join a global team of approximately 24 professionals.

Due to the long term nature of LTPC’s portfolio holdings, this position is well suited for a high performer interested in making long term, strategic investments and creating partnerships with portfolio companies to build lasting value.

Key responsibilities

  • Support senior investment colleagues in all aspects of an investment, including due diligence, financial review and modeling, valuation, preparation of presentation material for investment committees, transaction execution, value creation, and monitoring.

  • Develop and run financial models to analyze investment opportunities.

  • Perform market research, including research on potential investments, industry sectors, and competitors.

  • Synthesize all due diligence findings into investment memorandums and presentations.

  • Develop and conduct quarterly internal portfolio valuation and assist with portfolio reports and analytics for internal and external use.

  • Perform other analyses and conduct operational tasks necessary for transaction execution.

Experience & skills

  • Strong academic background.

  • 3-5 years of professional experience, ideally in investment banking or private equity.

  • Understanding of global private equity markets.

  • Highly numerate with demonstrated financial modeling and evaluation skills.

  • Solid project management and organizational skills; ability to manage workload effectively and deliver quality work on schedule.

  • Strong presentation skills as well as oral and written communications skills.

  • Attentive to detail.

  • Team-oriented. Enthusiasm and commitment to working in a friendly, entrepreneurial, team environment.

  • Experience of undertaking due diligence processes and reviewing finance and legal documentation is a plus.

For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $115,000 - $180,000. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.

Our hybrid work model
