Business Overview:

USWA Business delivers BlackRock's full set of capabilities - iShares, alpha-seeking and alternative products, portfolio solutions and technology services - to wealth management firms and financial advisors in the US.

Advisor Engagement group within the USWA Business delivers a broad set of services and client engagement approaches that amplify the work of our client teams. This includes digital client engagement, business consulting, thought leadership, advisor growth programs, and advisor education. The team also works closely with Global Marketing to design an integrated USWA marketing strategy. WEA (Wealth Enablement and Analytics) Engineering team within Advisor Engagement group is responsible for developing new tools and capabilities which enable Sales, Portfolio Consulting, and other Wealth Distribution partners to self-service their advisor engagements, and drive innovation and scale.

Job Purpose/Background:

We are seeking an energetic professional to lead a team of Full Stack developers and having hands on technical experience in design and development of Python based Applications and Angular based Interactive Data Visualization solutions.

The individual must have a solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and extensive experience building multi-tier applications. The ideal candidate will thrive in a work environment that requires strong problem-solving skills and independent self-direction, coupled with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication. Attention to detail and creativity in problem solving are critical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

· Lead a delivery team and demonstrates leadership and team management skills (both People + Technical).

· Deliver a major project or multiple projects in partnership with other technical teams.

· Design and implement scalable technical solutions for projects by utilizing the BlackRock environment that already exists., and if that’s not possible, develop solutions with multiple points of leverage than silo solutions.

· Responsible for quality, effectiveness and on time delivery of projects, engagement and mentoring of delivery teams.

Project planning with Agile Methodologies: Plan, execute, and enhance projects with the help of Agile tools and techniques like user stories, sprints, retrospectives, backlog management and kanban boards.

· Sets the strategic direction for the team and influences thinking of the function. Challenges the status quo and proactively looks out for opportunities to improvise existing processes.

· Takes up varied and challenging assignments and delivers high impact solutions, eventually raising the bar within the regional team. E.g., Build and execute a successful data strategy for the business.

· Adjust activities to meet changing priorities and demands of local and functional teams. E.g., Assisting in driving firm wide initiatives.

Eligibility Criteria:

· Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.

· 10+ years of relevant software programing experience (preferably in finance industry).

· 4+ years of experience leading a team of Full Stack developers and providing technical and functional oversight to the delivery team.

· In depth experience in Python programming language including libraries for data structures, reporting templates, scripting etc.

· Extensive experience creating web applications with front-end frameworks like React or Angular.

· Has in-depth knowledge of production infrastructure and ability to define production deployment architecture and BCP plan for their tool(s) and application(s).

· Demonstrates ability to exercise independent judgment and make decisions by weighing both risks and rewards and considers short- and long-term consequences. E.g., In case of production deployment having issues, proven ability to make Go/No-go decisions and if required roll back the release.

· Demonstrates strong stakeholder management skills. Ability to delivers clear and well-organized global communication across various business groups.

· Has a proven track record of performance that resulted in highly satisfied business partners.

· Demonstrates passion for Business and can connect the dots.

· Flexibility of shift timings.

Desirable

· Use of APIs and understanding of HTTP and REST architecture.

· Experience with sales CRM systems like Microsoft Dynamics, portfolio risk reporting tools.

· Knowledge in any one of the visualization tools like Power BI.

· Exposure to technologies like data science and machine learning.

· Experience working on LLM and Gen AI projects.

· Knowledge and interest in the financial services industry domain strongly recommended.

Our hybrid work model
