The position is for an engineering team lead within the Portfolio Management Engineering team. Portfolio Management Engineering is a team within the Aladdin Product Group and are responsible for technology utilized by Portfolio Managers, Traders, Risk Managers, Researchers, Compliance Officers and Investment Operations. More specifically the role is in the team that is responsible for building the algorithmic platform that allows BlackRock’s portfolio managers to customize their investment workflows at scale. Solutions developed by the team is used by BlackRock’s portfolio managers to run 5T of assets. This is a global team with engineers based in Mumbai, London and San Francisco, and user across all major investment markets.

As the Engineering Lead you will:

  • Lead the engineering team across multiple high-visibility firm initiatives

  • Work in partnership with our product managers, internal users and clients to execute a product and technical roadmap

  • Grow your technical knowledge and leadership skills to become one of the most productive technology teams at BlackRock; be an inspiring leader across the entire engineering organization

What you'll need:

  • You will have experience working with asset management systems and delivering technology across the whole value chain.

  • Several years’ worth of experience in running Agile teams and can show your passion to improve yourself and your squads

  • Successful deliveries of technology focused products through the entire product development lifecycle.

  • Showcase high-level designs & blueprints along with the business value that these have achieved in your past experience

  • Deep experience taking technical designs and translating them into measurable stories for your squad

  • In-depth experience in building web applications from front-end to back-end

  • Expertise in Java, Kubernetes, Docker, distributed technologies, horizontal scale architecture. Experience with Python and Angular will be a nice to have.

  • Goal setting, in alignment with Business, Technology and BlackRock goals

Our hybrid work model
