BlackRock Investment Institute (BII) Overview:
The BlackRock Investment Institute (BII) leverages the firm’s expertise to provide insights on the global economy, markets, geopolitics and asset allocation – all to help our clients and portfolio managers navigate financial markets. As a unique center of excellence, BII offers strategic and tactical market views, publications and digital tools that are underpinned by proprietary research. Our aim is to secure a better financial future for our clients by helping them understand what is in their portfolio and determine the mix of asset classes that fit their risk and return needs.
BlackRock is seeking a candidate to join as a Research Analyst within the BII Economics and Markets Research team, who will help leverage the firm’s expertise by providing rigorous finance and macroeconomics analysis and policy insight.
Contributes to the material that defines the economic and financial markets outlook and identifies investment themes for the use of clients and BlackRock distribution channels
Supports the Chief Investment Strategist for Italy BII with research and data analysis across key thematic investment issues with implications across asset classes
Interacts with BlackRock Investment Institute central functions in research projects regarding investment strategy and asset allocation views
Joins distribution functions (both in wealth and institutional space) to deliver economic and financial markets outlook to clients
Ensures socialization of BlackRock Investment Institute thought leadership pieces both internally (to channels) and externally (clients and media)
Knowledge / Experience:
Previous material experience (no less than 4 years) acquired in a research function and/or in an investment advisory desk.
Ability to self-organize and drive small scale projects to conclusion
Technical skills a pre-requisite, but equally important are presentation skills to deliver content in simple and convincing way
Ability and willingness to stand in front of clients both in one to one and in one to many set-ups
Ability to deliver under tight time constraints
Advanced degree in economics, macroeconomics or finance
Advanced knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel, working knowledge of Bloomberg
Deep knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (particularly PowerPoint and Excel). Familiarity with Python would be an asset
Italian and English required (Spanish and/or French a definitive advantage)
