Job Description:

Job Overview / Key Responsibilities

The MEA Marketing Manager is responsible for marketing and communications activities covering all business channels (Retail and iShares). This role sits within a team of 5 to lead Wealth and Institutional marketing efforts in the MEA & UK region. The Middle East requires communications in English language therefore working closely with the UK team is important to help scale campaigns. Markets covered in this region are: Dubai, South Africa, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and Oman. There is potential for travel with this role.

Responsibilities include:

Campaign strategy and development

The team implements campaigns across the full marketing mix aimed at driving distribution of our products deeper into client segments. Key aspects of the role are:

  • Work with the UK Head of Marketing to develop campaign objectives and strategy in line with the UK & MEA business objectives and goals

  • Develop a full understanding of the MEA & UK investment market in order to ensure successful positioning and marketing of BlackRock products

  • Develop a deep knowledge of Retail, Institutional and iShares marketing strategies and distribution channels

  • Working with media and distribution partners to help distribute our key messages and funds

  • Adapt marketing campaigns and collateral developed by the central marketing teams so they are relevant for the local market, working closely with a number of stakeholders and agencies such as compliance, digital, creative services, design agencies etc.

  • Manage marketing budget for a specific client segment

  • Report on efficiency and effectiveness of the marketing program for MEA

Event marketing

The local marketing event program includes sponsored events, partnership events, industry fairs, seminars as well as BlackRock’s proprietary event activity. Content will be aligned to the overall marketing theme. Key aspects include:

  • Defining the local event strategy and agenda

  • Liaising with speakers, briefing them and organising their input

  • Working with the Creative Services team to design the layout and branding

  • Working with the Central Events team to oversee logistics and organisation around the event

Digital marketing

Having a digital skillset is critical in this role. The ideal candidate will have knowledge in:

  • CRM systems such as Eloqua, Salesforce or Marketo

  • Creating content, formatting it with 3rd parties and building a distribution plan around it

  • Managing with a developer web page builds including campaign landing pages

  • Understanding of user experience principles and mapping client journeys

Experience and qualifications

  • Associate level (at least 4 years’ experience) with proven track record working on MEA or UK financial service brands

  • Knowledge of MEA markets is preferable

  • Understanding of different types of fund structures, including Investment Trusts, OEICs and Unit Trusts

  • Strategic and creative thinker with attention to detail and focus on delivery

  • Project management skills, including an ability to move projects forward in a complex environment

  • Ability to integrate input from multiple stakeholders while maintaining project schedules

  • Ability to liaise with management of all levels to drive and communicate strategy

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment – adaptable, reliable with a strong ‘can do attitude’

  • Able to operate in a fast-paced environment with flexibility in regard to changes in strategy and project plan

  • A proven track record of professional and personal achievement

  • Educated to degree level
