About this role

Job Purpose/Background:

The role is for an associate level individual to join the EMEA Solutions Structuring (ESS) team within Global Product Solutions (GPS). The group focuses on outsourcing solutions for our clients in EMEA. This is a key area of growth in the region.

Our team operates independently, maintaining an unbiased approach to:

  • Partner with iSW and ICB relationship managers across EMEA to identify and structure both wealth and institutional solution opportunities.

  • Manage the design and implementation of these solutions from post-sale implementation to full integration, ensuring a tailored and strategic approach for each client.

As a member of the team, you will work on some of BlackRock’s most strategic, complex and high-valued client opportunities. Each outsourcing opportunity is unique. Therefore, you can look forward to a multi-faceted role that allows you to develop a wide skillset and varied experience with different partner teams. Associates on team will work across the two areas of focus and in addition also help support on the business management side.

The role involves building strong internal relationships with regular cooperation and interaction across all parts of the EMEA business (investments, product, technology, in-country sales teams, and operations). You will develop skills to help and lead long-term, strategic and complex projects with a creative and customer-oriented approach.

Key responsibilities will include:

Pre-Win

  • Help project management BLKs RFP response- where scope of opportunity is non-standard.

  • Interpret client demand and assessment of internal operating capabilities with partner teams to deliver client needs.

  • Articulating the implementation approach and overarching capabilities of the team (positioning value add beyond investment capabilities).

Implementation design and project management

  • Lead virtual teams and partner with business leaders to drive strategic commercial opportunities to completion.

  • Define the implementation approach, develop project objectives with measurable goals, drive consensus and communicate plans and results to stakeholders and management throughout.

  • Responsible for managing the overall project, including planning, organising, managing internal & external Steering Committees, overseeing its execution, while also performing business analysis tasks such as gathering and analyzing requirements, identifying business needs, and developing solutions to meet those needs.

  • Bridge the gap between business and technical aspects of the project, ensuring that the project is delivered on time, within [budget], and meets the needs of the business & our clients.

  • Develop detailed understanding our client's business and adjust implementation plans and approach to meet capabilities.

  • Simplify complex topics and create innovative solutions for issues or new business concepts.

  • Manage engagement across internal risk management committees e.g. FORCC.

  • Employ a risk-based process-first approach to implementation design to ensure efficient execution and buy-in from internal stakeholders.

  • Maintain a One BlackRock perspective to deliver results, which are beneficial for both individual businesses and the firm as well as our clients.

  • Building strong relationships with client stakeholders and ensuring a sound understanding of their objectives, their people, process, platform, and technologies.

  • Export change management expertise and experience to client program managers and COO.

  • Act as the entry point to the firm – make BLK feel small and accessible. Able to represent businesses with credibility.

  • Managing capacity of our businesses – know when to engage and deploy resourcing appropriately.

Post Win - Developing the Proposition

  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with clients to enhance the client confidence in our services. This foundation will enable the identification and realization of potential upselling opportunities, thereby expanding our business engagements with them.

  • Export change management and implementation expertise to clients when required to drive efficiency in project execution.

Qualified candidates should demonstrate the following qualities/skills:

  • Strong project management skills covering project inception, implementation, and closeout.

  • Key domain knowledge areas include asset management industry experience, business analysis and product.

  • Structured critical thinker with problem-solving abilities who can organise people under pressure and pull-in key decision makers to prioritise issues and respond to clients and senior management.

  • Excellent written and oral communication, including PowerPoint skills.

  • Extremely high attention to detail and strong work ethic.

  • Ability to clearly articulate objectives and influence outcomes

  • Ambitious and proactive: able to show initiative and come up with ideas without prompting.

  • Collaborate and coordinate internal resources and partners to obtain buy-in and commitment.

  • Able to demonstrate versatility and willingness to adjust working approach and learn new topics to achieve project success.

  • Technical aptitude, understanding technology in a business context, desired.

  • Aladdin user experience and understanding preferred.

  • Experience in business process analysis, design, and implementation.

Our hybrid work model
