About this role

The Regulatory Planning & Analysis (RP&A) team provides analysis, planning and decision support coverage across investment management, client focused distribution channels, technology, infrastructure, and corporate operations to improve business analysis, better inform management decision-making and communicate more effectively with key stakeholders. The RP&A team is also focus on regulatory matters such as the ICARAs.

Role Description:

We are seeking for a candidate with experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and a regulatory / external focus such as financial projection, stress testing, wind-down planning, eager to join a leading asset management firm.

The ideal candidate would possess excellent communication and project management capabilities along with strong quantitative and analytical skills. Candidate must have a high aptitude towards financial analysis software such as Excel and power point to be successful in this role. The Candidate should be able to operate in a fast-moving environment and support ad-hoc projects on a regular basis.

The EMEA RP&A team play a key role in the production of the Internal capital adequacy and risk assessment (ICARA) for BlackRock Group Limited (‘BGL’) the UK regulated entity. The primary purpose of the ICARA document is to inform the BGL Board of the firm’s ongoing financial assessment and how it intends to deal with risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand the firm’s business model and strategy, key operating profit drivers, sources of revenues and expenses;

  • Apply regulatory requirements and industry best practices in relation to stress testing, reverse stress testing and wind-down planning for asset management firms;

  • As part of regulatory reporting, contribute to the ICARA production by financial modelling of stress tests, reverse stress tests and wind-down planning;

  • Support ICARA workshops with subject matter experts from various businesses by creating meeting materials, following up on actions, documenting discussions and results;

  • During stress test, reverse stress test and wind-down planning, collaborate with members of a cross-functional ICARA team which includes Risk & Quantitative Analysis (RQA), Finance, Treasury, Compliance, and other teams;

  • Support ad-hoc analysis required by EMEA based regulators for financial information, including other legal entity projections and proactively look for opportunities to enhance and optimise the existing processes and models used;

  • Support the business in relation to strategic projects and ad-hoc financial analyses as required.

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Understanding of key corporate finance processes including budgeting and forecasting;

  • Experience in understanding and reviewing financials;

  • Knowledge of the asset management industry and investments is beneficial;

  • Experience of regulatory capital projection preferred but not essential.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Advanced Excel, Word and Power Point skills required, experience with TM1 Cognos preferred but not essential, VBA skills a plus;

  • Strong organisational, planning, quantitative and problem-solving skills;

  • Strong attention to detail with high standards for quality and accuracy;

  • Collaborative, team-oriented, service-oriented;

  • Effective in building and nurturing relationships and comfortable interacting with all levels of management;

  • A desire to work in a high-energy environment with a dedicated commitment to excellence.
