About this role

Team Overview

BlackRock is currently seeking operations professionals at the Analyst level to become part of our Global Investment Operations team. The diverse function spans Trading & Market Documentation, Transaction Management, Collateral Management, Payments, Corporate Actions, Cash & Asset Operations, and Securities Lending Operations. It plays an integral role within the organization interacting with multiple internal and external parties to ensure risk is minimized, processes are efficient and high levels of client service are achieved, in what is an evolving and dynamic environment.

Role Requirements

  • Financial knowledge - Role requires thorough understanding of various financial products such Equities, Bonds , Money Market instruments, Interest, Swap , Derivatives and Investment strategies, basic accounting awareness

  • Market Awareness - Strong understanding of market mechanism, participants such as custodians , brokers, sub agent , clearing houses , depositories etc.

  • Risk management - Awareness of key risk associated for respective markets to make informed decision while managing daily risk, risk assessment and mitigation is the key to ensure compliance and protect the firm's and client's interest

  • Technology proficiency and Analytical skills -familiarity with Microsoft office 360, SQL, Power BI, Tableau .

  • Ability to analyze data , identify themes, patterns and make informed decision

  • Attention to detail:- Thoroughness in reviewing and validating data to avoid errors

  • Communication skills - effective communication to collaborate with various teams both internally and externally, including Portfolio managers, Traders, counterparties, custodians to resolve exceptions related to Matching & Settlement of trades in Markets in time

  • Problem solving & Team work - Capability to handle complex issues and find practical solution - work with stakeholders ( Counterparties, custodians, securities lending, Corporate actions) to identify and resolve exceptions through trade life cycles including trade capture, confirmation, pre-matching , settlement or cash and asset breaks

  • Handling pressure & time management - Role has both time sensitivity and financial risk associated hence the individual should be able to perform under pressure and manage the risk efficiently

  • Adaptability- Being flexible to adapt to changing market conditions and evolving business needs

Experience

  • 1 to 4 years experience preferably in global Investment Management and Investment Banking firms

  • Strong process knowledge in trade operations - trade settlements, trade confirmations/matching

  • Bachelor's or PG qualification in business, finance or related field

  • Previous experience of working in a global organization preferred

  • Understanding of financial markets and related instruments - (Equities, Fixed Income, FX Derivatives, Exchange Traded Futures, SWAPS, Collaterals)

  • A strong emphasis on time management in addition to being well organized and detail –oriented

  • Team player with attention to details, problem solving abilities, and analytical skills

  • Ability to multi task and be flexible in terms of working in shifts

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and an aptitude for learning new applications

  • The ability to perform effectively in an environment and able to re-prioritize due to rapid and continual change
