About this role

Job Purpose/Background:

This position is part of the Corporate Accounting team within the Controllers Group and is primarily responsible for the financial accounting and regulatory reporting for certain legal entities with in the APAC region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities include financial accounting, regulatory reporting, including monthly closing of US GAAP books and Local GAAP books as well as performing analysis and reconciliations between the 2 sets of books.

  • Perform month-end close activities including revenue & expense accruals, bank reconciliations and intercompany settlement.

  • Review and analysis of income statement and balance sheet accounts and provide commentary for variance.

  • Maintain fixed assets register and doing depreciation run.

  • Regulatory reporting and completing various statutory local surveys.

  • Review and prepares monthly reconciliations of certain Balance Sheet accounts and substantiation of the balance.

  • Support preparation of interim and annual financial statements under local GAAP.

  • Support statutory audits by providing backups and schedules.

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting. CA / CPA is preferred.

  • 3 years of accounting/audit experience, preferably in a “Big 4” or financial services.

  • Working knowledge of IFRS & US GAAP.

  • High proficiency in Oracle and Microsoft Office applications.

Competencies:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Positive attitude & willingness to continuously learn.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to consistently be attentive to detail while meeting critical deadlines and handling multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Strong organizational skills.
