Team Overview

Technology and Operations (“Tech Ops”) supports the development of the firm's operating infrastructure to support BlackRock's investment businesses worldwide. Tech Ops establishes and coordinates operational procedures internally and externally with clients, custodians, accounting agents, prime brokers, broker-dealers, and other vendors, as well as strengthen BlackRock's relationships. Global Fund Distributor Operations (“GFDO”) is a unit within Tech Ops.

Our ideal candidate will be familiar with financial control processes and data analysis in Excel. As a member of the team, you will be responsible the validation and processing of retrocession payments for the BlackRock EMEA fund ranges, and ensuring they meet the contractual obligations agreed upon with our clients. This will include the below key activities:

  • Oversight of our third party transfer agents setup of retrocession agreements and fee terms are in line with BlackRock instructions, and service level agreements (SLA) are adhered to.

  • Review retrocessions calculations for adherence to standard methodology and provide commentary for outliers to mitigate risk.

  • Ensure payments adhere with BlackRock policy and are approved in a timely manner.

  • Process various non-standard manual adjustments, invoice payments and Ad-Hoc payments

  • Ensure retrocession payments are processed in accordance with CASS client money regulations.

  • Co-ordinate with internal partners and external transfer agents to ensure any new share classes or fee changes are incorporated into retro terms.

  • Assist in providing required documentation for all internal, external, and SOX audits.

  • Assist with creating performance indicators and reporting for senior management.

Experience

  • Minimum 2-5 years of professional experience

  • Prior asset management or audit experience useful but not required.

  • Microsoft Office experience, including strong Excel knowledge a must.

  • Professional Qualification beneficial

  • Engage and maintain relationships with key partners in Tech Ops and across the firm to effectively navigate the global organization.

  • Provide exceptional client service through quick and complete response to internal/external client queries.
