Within Global Investment Operations, Portfolio Enablement Services, the Derivative Documentation team is manages the on-boarding of BlackRock funds and separate client mandates to our master trading agreements with approved derivative trading counterparties, such as large investment banks, in order to enable trading and capturing certain data points in various systems to support post-trade operations.

The group maintains key on-boarding functions in the global operating model for all forms of derivatives, including bi-lateral and cleared over-the-counter (“OTC”), exchange traded futures and options, as well as other activities under master trading agreements. The team plays an integral role within the organisation interacting with multiple internal partners, including portfolio managers and trading desks and also has extensive dealings with external parties, predominately their Legal, Credit and On-Boarding teams.

In addition to the daily responsibilities, you will participate in firm-wide initiatives and projects as well as contributing to the department's global operating model with constant and consistent focus on mitigating risks, providing strong oversight and control to our operational processes, while looking to make continuous improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain close relationships and partnerships with BlackRock colleagues as well as with external service providers, partners and counterparties.

  • Oversee and manage internal and external service provider relationships – ensure successful delivery of contracted services, proactively address and resolve issues.

  • Liaise with external counterparties to set up, maintain or terminate trading relationships. Be responsible for updating legal agreements as part of the on-boarding of new accounts to master agreements, such as clearing agreements, ISDAs, GMRAs, etc. Monitor and review various third party documentation platforms.

  • Be accountable for inputting legal and derivative static data into various systems to support trading and collateral processes.

  • Contribute to overseeing strategic architecture and design on platform enhancements to operational processes.

  • When required, be the representative for external parties including clients, auditors and consultants.

  • Learn to adhere to stringent operational risk management targets (Key Risk Indicators / Key Process Indicators)

  • Help build a culture of openness, inclusion and proactive engagement at all levels, developing a “bottom up” approach to problem solving that favours creative, data driven, “outside of the box” solutions.

Who We Are Looking For:

  • A self starter who enjoys operating in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment, who is capable of working as part of a distributed team.

  • An excellent verbal and oral communicator, capable of articulating complex problems in a simplistic manner. Must be fluent in English.

  • Someone with a high level of attention to detail with an ability to project-manage and multitask.

  • A candidate who has the desire to offer a high level of customer satisfaction.

  • Someone who possesses an entrepreneurial drive and technical insight to identify control gaps and drive operational improvement initiatives.

  • An individual who is highly organized, focused with practiced skills in operating effectively to tight deadlines within a high risk and high volume environment.

  • Background in finance and/or contract management is desired but not crucial.

Our hybrid work model
