Job Description:

As a ‘home office’ based Investment Management Consultant, provide BlackRock asset management capabilities to Advisors in theIndependentchannel. Be effective at selling Mutual Funds, iShares, Separately Managed Accounts, Alternative Investments, and other platform capabilities such as model portfolios. Train Advisors on the full set of tools and resources that BlackRock provides.

Responsibilities:

  • Generate positive sales results in line with budget. Increase market share and retain assets

  • Work persistently towards mutually agreeable sales and activity goals with target advisors

  • Demonstrate dedication to the company and colleagues’ success and contribute to the group

  • Adapt to change readily by trying new selling approaches, styles and new material in his/her territory

  • Exhibit in-depth knowledge of all investment products, including the demonstration of a high level of comfort in communicating this information to Advisors in the context of portfolio construction

  • Position and differentiate BlackRock and our products against competitor firms and their products

  • Converse knowledgeably with Advisors about the economy and portfolio management

  • Creatively assist Brokers/FAs in sourcing sales ideas

  • Communicate effectively by phone, through webex and VC

  • Promote team morale and be open and helpful in sharing best practices with other BlackRock employees

  • Partner with external and internal wholesalers on segmentation to develop a process and coordinate efforts in the territory

  • Fully incorporate sales data into the sales process to most effectively manage territory and enhance penetration levels

  • Fully leverage digital assets (tools, direct marketing, web site) to drive engagement of advisors with BlackRock. This includes the adoption of web-ex and virtual meetings to drive phone-based meetings.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required (MBA, CIMA, CFP, CFA a plus)

  • 2+ years as an experienced internal wholesaler or 1+ year as a hybrid wholesaler

  • Strong financial services background

  • Demonstrate strong dedication to the company and contribution to colleagues success

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent sales and platform skills to provide value-added services to clients

  • Series 7 & 66 is required

  • 25% (1 week per month) of travel is required
