·Vice President

·Primary support for Global Real Asset Securities (“GRAS”) investment team, representing products to both retail and institutional clients.

·Responsible for providing a link and insights on the GRAS platform between the GRAS investment team Blackrock distribution teams and clients directly.

Job Purpose/Background:

BlackRock is recruiting for a Product Strategist to work within the GRAS Product Strategy team based in London. Product Strategists are professionals that partner with our Investment professionals and act as the link between investment teams, BlackRock client business and clients. A Product Strategist plays a central role in facilitating connectivity between investors, distribution and clients. Product Strategists are embedded within investment teams acting as commercial partners with their respective investment teams to both internal and external clients, acting as a specialised source of product, investments, and market knowledge.

The role will cover both listed real estate and infrastructure securities, being the primary investment contact for relationship managers within the firm across both asset classes. Therefore, this role will be seen as a key link for the GRAS team. This will include communicating portfolio management investment decisions, market views as well as all product related matters.

The role combines Product Marketing & Investment Strategy skills and requires subject matter expertise, the ability to drive a project and the ability to work in a team-based environment. The successful candidate will work in close co-operation with many of BlackRock's teams including Portfolio Management, BlackRock Global Institutional and Retail Client Relationship Management, Global Consultant Relations, Legal, Marketing Compliance, Finance, Operations and Executive Management of our Global Real Asset Securities platform.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Drive business growth through growing assets under management across all GRAS strategies, which include listed real estate, listed infrastructure and combined strategies.

  • Identify areas for new business opportunities through active prospecting, conferences and networking. Help create and execute the business strategy to be able to capitalise on these.

  • Key link to facilitate effective interactions between portfolio managers and clients/ consultants, being a credible representative of the GRAS portfolio managers to internal and external customers.

  • Meet with clients, prospects, and/or intermediaries to explain the products, investment philosophy, process, and performance.

  • Maintain current client relationships and foster new relationships through quarterly updates, responding to ad hoc requests and being the key contact for investment-related activities. Take a proactive approach to solving client queries.

  • Provide updates on overall financial market performance, economic trends and the team’s market outlook.

  • Cultivate excellent relationships with investment teams, client teams, and other departments within BlackRock: Global Product Groups, Legal and Marketing Compliance.

  • Understand in market regulation for the funds to ensure commercial success.

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Educated to degree level and relevant financial markets experience essential.

  • 5+ years’ experience in asset management, investment banking or product specialist roles

  • Experience in a client service/business development role, within the investment management industry

  • Knowledge of equity and/or real estate and infrastructure markets.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Ideally some European or Asian Language skills to a business level.

  • Ability to understand and articulate fund management strategies clearly and with confidence.

  • Strong presentation as well as oral and written communications skills

  • Ideally some European or Asian Language skills to a business level.

  • Ideally some CFA accreditations or similar financial exams

  • Ideally some coding language abilities

  • Exceptional attention to detail, placing a high priority on accuracy.

  • Highly organised, proactive and resourceful.

  • Active team player with the ability to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks to ensure that complex projects are completed by deadline and ability to work well under time pressure and with time constraints.

  • Strong research and writing skills to clearly articulate sophisticated concepts, ideas, and processes.

  • Creative and critical independent thinker.

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel and ability to develop familiarity and skills using proprietary technology.

  • Passion for pursuing a career in real assets and equity investments.
